When can you ask for a side show in Teen Patti?
A side show is a request to compare hands with the player immediately before you. It is a house-rule action, so agree on its availability and response before the first three-card practice round.
Direct answer: In common Teen Patti practice rules, a seen player may ask the immediately previous active seen player for a side show on their turn. The other player can accept or refuse; refusal usually means normal play continues. Do not assume the rule applies to blind players or every table.
Set the rule before dealing
- Confirm whether only seen players may request it.
- Confirm the current chaal amount and whether both players must match it.
- Say what happens after a refusal and who acts next.
- Keep the session virtual-chip and adult-only; a rule check should never become pressure to add money.
How to ask clearly
Wait for your turn, name the previous active player, say “side show,” and pause for the answer. If the request is accepted, compare the two three-card hands privately according to the agreed ranking ladder. The lower hand packs; the higher hand returns to normal turn order.
Common confusion
A side show is not the same as a final show. It does not compare every player, and it does not replace the usual Trail, Pure Sequence, Sequence, Colour, Pair and High Card order. If the group cannot state the exact rule, skip the side show for that round and settle it before the next deal.
